Gary’s passion for Subaru began back in 2006 during high school when he spotted a Blobeye WRX with a modified exhaust. Hearing that unmistakable boxer rumble for the first time left a lasting impression and sparked an obsession with the brand. His first project car was a 1994 Honda Accord, where countless repairs and YouTube tutorials taught him the fundamentals of working on cars. Although the Accord was eventually stolen while he was at work, it only fueled his passion even further.
Fast forward to 2020, after returning from deployment assisting with the Northern California wildfires, Gary rewarded himself with his first Subaru, a 2020 WRX in Crystal Black Silica. Since then, it’s been his daily driver, road trip companion, and weekend canyon car, with hopes of spending even more time at the track. Today the WRX has accumulated over 130,000 miles, proving that a properly maintained, thoughtfully modified Subaru can be both reliable and incredibly rewarding to own.
