Verus Engineering 3D Printed Aluminum Oil Pan for 22+ Subaru BRZ/Toyota GR86

OVERVIEW

The redesigned Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ made a major impact, building on the success of the previous GT86/BRZ platform with improved handling and a more powerful FA24 Boxer engine. It’s widely considered one of the best budget-friendly platforms for track use. However, despite its strengths, the FA24 is known to experience significant oil pressure drops under hard driving conditions—especially during sustained right-hand corners.

To address this issue, Verus Engineering developed a 3D Printed Aluminum Oil Pan specifically for FA24-powered GR86 and BRZ models.

This oil pan features an integrated baffle system designed to keep oil positioned near the pickup during high-G driving, helping maintain more consistent oil pressure on track. The increased oil capacity allows for a higher volume of oil without the risk of overfilling, offering added engine protection. The additional capacity also helps improve thermal management, making it a solid upgrade for track-focused applications.

Developed using precise scan data, the pan features a contoured design that wraps around the exhaust header to maximize space and performance. It retains compatibility with the factory header, allowing for a straightforward installation while remaining EPA and CARB compliant.

Testing data—both in-house and from users—has shown OEM oil pressure dropping as low as 23 PSI under aggressive driving. With this upgraded pan installed, oil pressure remains more stable, helping reduce the risk of premature bearing wear or engine failure caused by oil starvation.
